Annual routine vehicle services to schedule yearly

With the start of a new year on our horizon, it’s a good time to take stock of your vehicle and make sure you’re scheduling the maintenance it needs. Vehicle maintenance can vary from vehicle to vehicle, but we have general guidelines below. You can schedule your next appointment with Carl Black Hiram online and we’ll see you in Hiram, GA.

Vehicle maintenance to get done routinely

If you’re unsure about vehicle maintenance, the best thing to do is bring your vehicle in twice a year for an inspection. There’s a good chance you’ll need an oil change biannually too, so you can schedule these together. Here are the most common vehicle services that your vehicle will need regularly:

  • Fluid top-offs and changes including oil, coolant, and transmission fluid
  • Tire balancing and rotation or tire replacement
  • Malfunctioning parts replacement such as windshield wipers, headlights, or taillights
  • Filter changes including engine air filters, fuel filters, and cabin air filters
  • Inspections of other critical parts prone to wearing out including the battery and brakes

Vehicle parts to check and possibly replace annually

The wear on your vehicle depends on how you drive, where you live, and the type of parts you’re using. Some parts might hold up well if you drive infrequently, drive in good conditions, and the part is a high-quality design. However, some parts, like the vehicle battery, can suffer when the vehicle isn’t being used often, so there’s really no perfect way to drive.

What you should do is check your vehicle’s parts regularly for wear and tear. If you’re unsure how to do this, a professional technician like those at our dealership can run through a vehicle inspection checklist. If you want to do it yourself, make sure to check the following: oil levels, coolant levels, engine air filter, tires, wiper blades, transmission fluid, brakes, headlights, turn signals, and taillights. These are the items most likely to need replacing in a calendar year.
