Which is better for off-roading: Jeep Gladiator or Ford Ranger

Both the Jeep Gladiator and Ford Ranger offer 4×4, but the Jeep Gladiator comes with 4×4 on every model for the 2023 model year. Other off-road features are abundant on both vehicles, including an electronic-locking rear differential on both models. The Jeep Gladiator offers a sway bar disconnect for front-wheel articulation and steel rock rails for body protection. The Ford Ranger offers the Raptor trim level, an off-road equipped model with Fox Racing Shocks with live valve technology and other off-road features.

If we had to choose one or the other, we might go with the Jeep Gladiator for its higher ground clearance, even on an earlier model. The Ford Ranger gets 10.7 inches on its best model, the Raptor, and 8.8 inches and 9.3 inches on other models.
